Graduated as Bachelor of Geology at the National University of La Plata (UNLP) in 1975, then in 1977 he specialized in Petroleum Geology at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Attended specialization courses at the Canadian Institute for Petroleum Industry Development (Calgary-1996) and obtained the International Petroleum Management Certificate at the IHRDC (Boston-2000).

He began his professional activity as an exploration geologist at YPF, first in the off-shore division in 1977, then since 1979, as a surface geologist in the Neuquina basin and as head of the Geological Commission of the Argentine Northwest basins between 1981-1988. He joined Tecpetrol as a senior geologist in 1990, was the exploration manager for domestic and international areas and retired in 2016. He currently works as an independent consultant.

His area of ​​expertise is focused on hydrocarbon exploration from mature areas to frontier or unexplored regions, integrating geological, geophysical and geochemical information (G & G & G). He has published several papers locally and internationally and, as a result of this extensive work, he has participated in the discovery of more than 400MMBOE, in more than 20 successful exploratory projects.
